Antenna Accessories
Most installations will require additional accessories to complete the project. Channel Master provides many of these, including:
- Standout Clamps – Also sometimes called Standoff Clamps, these are used to hold the coaxial cable in place as it is routed into the house from the antenna. Standout clamps clip onto the antenna mast and can be screwed directly into wood.
- Guy Wire – It is always recommended that any antenna masts 10’ or higher be guyed to keep it stable. Channel Master provides 20 gauge, 6 strand, galvanized steel guy wire in 100’ and 1000’ lengths.
- Outdoor Balun – Channel Master provides high performance replacement outdoor baluns (matching transformers) for connecting 300 ohm antennas to 75 ohm coaxial cable. These are manufactured to industry standards, and provide excellent matching and low insertion loss.
- Grounding/Bonding Blocks – It is recommended that all outdoor antenna installations be connected to the building ground to ensure static electricity buildup on the antenna is sent to ground before entering the house. Channel Master provides a high quality grounding/bonding block for this purpose. The body of the bonding block is plated for long life in the elements. The F connectors feature high quality machined ports, low insertion loss, and excellent matching. The ground wire attachment point can accept ground wire sizes from #6 to #14.
- JoinTenna Combiners – Channel Master JoinTenna combiners are a unique product specifically designed to combine two separate antennas onto one coaxial cable. These are used when one channel is in a totally different direction than the rest of the TV stations you are trying watch, but you prefer to not use a rotator to rotate the antenna to point at that one TV station. In this situation, two antennas would be installed – one pointing in the direction of the majority of the channels you wish to watch, and the second pointing at the TV transmitter that is in a different direction. The JoinTenna is designed to allow all channels except one to pass through one port, and to only allow a single channel to pass through the second port. JoinTenna combiners are available with a dedicated port for channel 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, or channel 13.
