DVR+ Purchase and install. November 24, 2014
Reviewer: Scott Rodby from Elk River, MN United States
I purchased a DVR+ from Channel Master Oct 13 2014.
I purchased a 3TB HDD from Amazon.  I connected the system to my antenna and router and received 32 HD stations immediately.  I am located 27 miles north of Minneapolis.
It installed flawlessly.  It walked me through the setup, formatted the HD, began recording programs as requested.  Everything works as described. The internet guide is great,  We ran a dual system, Direct TV and the DVR+ for about a week, then discontinued service with Direct TV. Great feeling.  After about 5 weeks the DVR+ has performed flawlessly.  I purchased a second system, installed it in another room, it also works flawlessly.  We love the DVR+ systems.

Excellent product, best on the market. Be patient. November 24, 2014
Reviewer: Shane Menchions from Seattle, WA United States
I have tried other DVRs and even using my own computer with TV tuner cards and software installed.  I have never found a DVR solution as good as DVR+ and I recommend it to everyone.  For the price they charge incl. no subscription fees, you cannot go wrong.

I've had mine for over a year.  5% of the time there are small things that could be better like remote responsiveness, shows dropping from the schedule, etc.  However 95% of the time it is the best DVR I've ever owned.  Also DVR+ has frequent software updates that are slowly fixing any issues.  Thanks dev team!

PS: If you have an unresponsive remote, change the watch batteries in it.  Worked for me!

A month ago I finally cut the cord by buying and installing a Channel Master DVR+ and a SMARTenna 35/50. I am very happy,  my budget is happier and my spouse is happiest! The system workd great! I put a 3 TB external hard drive on it and I have not been able to fill it yet. Great concept and great product!

Not so much November 23, 2014
Reviewer: Bo from Iowa, United States
When it works, it's a pleasant experience worth a 4 star rating but after 2 units in 7 months my second unit is dropping "repeat recordings" or "all programs with this name" off the schedule after about 2 weeks.  Without manually updating the repeat recordings schedule it will not record them.  I have been troubleshooting with Tech support for about a 3 months now with daily monitoring, e-mails, phone calls, factor resets and etc. and I continue to have the same issues.

The price does not reflect reliability at this time and I would not recommend this product to anyone unless improvements are made.

Not really impressed November 20, 2014
Reviewer: John from Magnolia, TX United States
Have had (2) Units for 6 months now.  Not impressed.
Very poor remote layout.  Response of unit painfully slow.  Press a button on the remote (wait several seconds to see if it responds... or not).  Has option to record "all programs with that name" but after a week or so it stops recording them.  It is worthless to have to remember the "Season Passes" you want and go in there every week to make sure they are all still selected.  I have missed so many episodes of the weekly programs I watch because they drop off the recording schedule.
Expensive Box
Slow to respond to commands
Terrible remote
Weekly recordings fall off the schedule.
Just not impressed.
