I have had mine for 1-1/2 years November 27, 2013
Reviewer: John Miller from Delaware, OH
I am glad CM has decided to discontinue this product, but I would have preferred they correct the issues with the product instead. I have had many of the same problems as other reviewers and these are very annoying. When CM announces the upgrade, I hope they will offer existing owners a discount on price, because we will be trusting that CM has corrected the issues with the 7400 in the new model. \n\nIf this were a car, I would have been all over the dealer to correct the problems and would probably be driving another car by now -- however, so far as I know, this is the only DVR of it's kind for over the air broadcasts, hence, we are a captive audience.

Weak Tuner and gets extremely hot June 19, 2013
Reviewer: anonymous from Daytona Beach, FL
This is great for recording over the air television series. It has even caught the episodes that were not aired at the usual time slot. The only problems are the weak tuner and it gets extremely hot! My antenna signal is split equally several ways and all of my TV's get a great reception. This device won't get all the channels I get on the TV's and if this device doesn't show the signal strength as 100% we frequently get annoying freezes. Again the TV tuners do not have this problem. I also had this device lose the tuner settings on several occasions and after a rescan you need to reprogram the shows you want recorded. The worst part is if you do not want to pay for the TV guide you can only see the show line up about 12 hours in advance. I added a chiller mat designed for cooling lap top computers under this device and plugged the cooler into this devices USB port. So far it hasn't lost its tuner settings. I live in Daytona Beach Florida and all the stations are 40 to 60 miles away. I have a channel master CM4228HD Antenna mounted 50 feet in the air.

I like it but... March 21, 2013
Reviewer: Gary Rawlings from Portland, OR
I had a Sony HDDVR for about 4 years for OTA recording and loved it, but it went crackers on me and Sony eventually bought it back.  Been searching for a couple of years for a good reliable OTA DVR and found this one. I have used this one for about 6 months now and am fairly happy with it.  The picture quality is good, set up was a breeze and using it is easy.  It does has some issues every now and then like freezing up so I have to unplug it and start it again.  One time it got caught in a loop and just kept cycling through all the options - had to pull the plug.  But don't know what else is out there that would work any better.

Great Addition! January 24, 2013
Reviewer: Mark Hofmeister from Santa Clara, CA
We are OTA DTV viewers, so this device just broadened our viewing experience.  We can time shift our favorite programs to a better time for viewing and are just beginning to experiment with streaming through VUDU.\nWe are still a little confused as to why we can't watch the online Networks listed on the ChannelMasterTV web site on the DVR, only on our computer.  No complaints though, it's a wonderful addition to our entertainment center!
