| General Indoor Antenna Information
Will
a Channel Master Indoor TV antenna work for me? Channel Master
Manufacturers some of the highest quality indoor antennas on the
market, but there is much more to consider when selecting an indoor
antenna. While an outdoor antenna will always perform better there are
many reasons you may choose an indoor antenna. Indoor TV antennas are
generally ideal for consumers that are looking for an Indoor TV antenna
that can easily be self installed indoors, and individuals living in
apartments or rented homes, since they are unable to install anything permanently. If you are not restricted by the two scenarios above we
always recommend an outdoor TV antenna, but if you are and insist on an
Indoor TV antenna here are a few things you should take into
consideration. 1) Indoor TV antenna performance is almost impossible
to predict because the RF signal is absorbed and reflected differently
by the different materials your home is constructed from. 2) The
distance you are away from your desired channels transmitting tower, an
indoor usually performs best within 10 miles of the transmitter which
is normally the hart of your metropolitan area.
Channel
Master offers three main types of Indoor antennas, UHF, UHF/VHF/FM, and
an amplified indoor antenna. Our UHF indoor TV antenna model is the CM 4040;
this antenna offers excellent indoor UHF/HDTV reception and allows for
an increased forward gain while minimizing interference from the side
and rear. This antenna can be wall mounted or can be placed on top of
the TV or entertainment center. Our Basic UHF/VHF/FM is the CM 4020,
this antenna can also receive the UHF digital and HD signal while
adding the reception of VHF frequencies as well. This type of indoor
antenna is especially important for those metropolitan markets that
will continue to broadcast channels on the VHF frequencies. You can
find out if your area will have channels broadcast on VHF by going to http://www.antennaweb.org/,
entering your zip code and verifying the frequency assignment column.
If you have channels in this column below channel number 13, you will
need an indoor antenna that is VHF compatible. If all of the
channel are above channel 13, a UHF only antenna will work for you.
Our third indoor antenna CM 4030 is
the same as our cm 4020 indoor antenna with the addition of
amplification. This antenna is perfect if you know that you might be
pushing the signal reception area boundaries, or you feel like the
construction of your building may hinder your ability to receive the
signal.
